Notice of 2020 Tofino Co-op Annual General Meeting & Director Election

This is notice of the Annual General Meeting and Director Election for the Tofino Consumers Co-operative Association, which will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, in keeping with all current BC Health directives. There are two director positions up for election at this meeting. The meeting will be held at the Tofino Legion at 7:00 PM.

Director Nomination packages are available at the Administration Office (140 First Street) of the Tofino Co-op for interested individuals.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, advance voting will be available to Members, who may vote by secret ballot for two Directors and the needed procedural motions, from September 16th – September 30th. At that time, AGM information packages along with ballots may be picked up by each Member at the Administration Office. Sealed ballots need to be dropped off by each Member at the Administration office during this time. Advanced voting will close 4:00 PM, September 30th. In short, Members may vote while they shop. As always, no proxy votes are allowed.

• Candidates for election must meet the criteria set forth in the Rules of the Tofino Consumers Co-operative Association, Rule #76. This information is included in the candidate nomination package.
• Because of Advance Voting, we request candidates to provide a one-page bio, to be included in the AGM information packages, to assist Members in voting.
• All nominations must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM, Wednesday, August 26th, 2020 to the Administration Office of the Tofino Co-op.
• Nominations will not be taken from the floor at the Annual General Meeting as per Rule #79.
